SUMMARY:Sharktober Cleanup Aquatic Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly cleanup at Aquatic Park and celebrate sharks this Sharktober! \n  \nEducation\, Science and Action- this event supported by a U.C. Berkeley Chancellor’s Community Partnership Grant. \n\n\nCelebrate our own hound shark and bat ray nursery site and help us monitor and  protect this beautiful park.\n\n\nCollect data on marine debris\, plastic branding and wildlife observations.\nClean up and survey\, 2985 Bolivar Dr. Aquatic Park\, Berkeley CA. Sign up at our table inside gate at south end. \n\n\n\nJoin our Aquatic Park Stewards team testing water quality\, cleaning up marine debris and helping maintain the lagoon and park. \nMeet our Friends of Aquatic Park partners and help collect data on this ongoing research and community science project. \nWith support from Ava Community Energy and Alameda Clean Water grants. \nRSVP link here:  https://forms.gle/7r5UmPZGNgz4aYwC9 \n\n\n\n\n\nMeet at South End Parking Lot \n2985 Bolivar Drive\, Berkeley\, CA 94710 (Off Ashby entrance to East shore Fwy) \n\n\n\n\nPublic transportation and carpooling encouraged!\nFor the cleanup we will have some equipment to share but if you have a bucket\, picker and gloves\, bring them please.\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING\n\nLayered clothing\nsunscreen and hat\nsunglasses\nreusable water or drink container\nlunch or snacks if desired- no single use plastic please!\nsandals\, sneakers of beach shoes.\n\nCleanup supplies if you have themGather reusable cleanup supplies from home\, like a bucket and gardening gloves. Cleanup supplies\, as well as liability waivers\, will be available at each cleanup site if needed. Show up at our cleanup site at the designated time and day.
