This beach is near the effluent to the San Gabriel River and a major harbor and always has a load of plastic.

Join us at the Lower Back Bay and help maintain this popular fitness and walking area connected to the ocean by Newport Bay. This is a restored estuary site and an important part of the watershed with small sharks, rays, wading birds and lovely vistas. Find our table at the end of Back Bay Drive on the trail next to the entrance of Back Bay Science Center, sign in and gather your collection gear.
