California Coastal Cleanup Day, Berkeley
Join Shark Stewards on September 19, 2026 for the biggest day of volunteer action at Aquatic Park Berkeley, and the East Bay Parks!
Coastal Cleanup Day is an international day of action to protect our oceans, watersheds, and wildlife from trash and plastic pollution. In collaboration with the California Coastal Commission and the Ocean Conservancy, we have participated in these events for almost 20 years!
Join one of our monthly monitoring events and cleanups and learn more about restoring the health to Aquatic Park for sharks rays and people!
Education, Science and Action- this event supported by a U.C. Berkeley Chancellor’s Community Partnership Grant.
Join our Aquatic Park Stewards team testing water quality, cleaning up marine debris and helping maintain the lagoon and park.
Meet our Friends of Aquatic Park partners and help collect data on this ongoing research and community science project.

- Layered clothing
- sunscreen and hat
- sunglasses
- reusable water or drink container
- lunch or snacks if desired- no single use plastic please!
- sandals, sneakers of beach shoes.
Cleanup supplies if you have themGather reusable cleanup supplies from home, like a bucket and gardening gloves. Cleanup supplies, as well as liability waivers, will be available at each cleanup site if needed. Show up at our cleanup site at the designated time and day. Check in with on-site cleanup staff and start cleaning
