🐋 Policy & Legislative Action
- Submit Public Comment to California Fish and Game Commission to Increase Protection for California Sharks and Public Safety
- Sign the Petition to demanding increased protections and strict, enforceable bycatch limits for critically threatened species like the Oceanic Whitetip shark.
- Lobby Local Representatives: Send an email using our template urging Congress to defend and fully fund the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and support listed species and critical habitat.

- Log a Shark Sightings (Shark Watch): Divers, surfers, and ocean-goers submit real-time data uaing our Sharkwatch linktree. Spotted a shark? Upload your photos, location, and metadata to our Shark Watch database.”
- Collect Plastic and Branding Data during a cleanups- join us for a cleanup or start your own and use our data sheet to collect data to leverage plastic reduction.
- Water Quality Volunteers: Recruit community scientists in the San Francisco Bay Area to assist with hands-on monitoring (such as utilizing HOBO data loggers to track dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature at our research site at the Berkeley Aquatic Park).

- Register for Monthly Cleanups: Create a streamlined signup form for regular community cleanups (e.g., the Berkeley lagoon or Long Beach).
- Attend a Film Day Event: Join us for our Art for Sharks and Sharks, 5th annual educational outreach events at the upcoming Kona Ocean Film Day July 12, and help build local advocacy networks.
- Attend our Sharks Science and Safety fim event and seminar in Long Beach CA September 5.- or bid on art at our online auction!
