Shark Watch is an ongoing educational tool of the Shark Watch Program to teach youth and the general public about local sharks and inspire our data collection efforts and a greater appreciation of sharks, skates and rays.

Using the iNaturalist App with the California Academy of Sciences, we are engaging citizens to observe and record observations of pacific sharks, skates and rays. An associated educational program funded by the California Coastal Conservancy, we are introducing undeserved youth to the San Francisco Bay and Pacific Coastline, learning about wetland and marine ecosystems and observing wildlife in the field.
