Volunteer for Sharks
Standing by Kids
We met our goal! Thanks to generous donors like you and a private foundation grant, we tripled our original funding for the Aquatic Park youth education and habitat protection program, and to support international blue shark protection. Thank you!
2019 is the Year of the Blue Shark
Once the most common pelagic sharks globally, 20 million Blue sharks (Prionace glauca) are being killed for their fins each year and this large shark is now the most common species in the fin trade. Once thriving in all tropical and temperate oceans including coastal California, populations are plummeting and these beautiful and important sharks will disappear without our intervention. Learn more. We need your help to save sharks and protect ocean health. Dive in!
Volunteer opportunities! We rely on passionate talented volunteers who care about sharks and ocean health. You don’t have to live in California to help. We are seeking to build outreach and education globally, including China. Contact us to help!

Take a Stand for Kids and Ocean Health
Marine protected areas, shark fin trade bans and fisheries restrictions- like the newly won ban on gill nets in California- are saving sharks and other threatened marine life.
Because kids need a healthy ocean, and healthy oceans need sharks, we fight for all three!
