WE ARE FAMILY! Southern California Shark Movement Builds
I’m an LA boy- and have recently renewed my love for So Cal after developing new friendships and partners in LA and Orange Counties. I cannot express enough love and gratitude for my family and friends – including my little sis Jayne and niece Sarah (above) who are always there and came out for our run. Thanks to Beach Cities SCUBA for hosting our pre-run launch event with Smart Monitoring Systems and Maria Korcmaros.
Running 4 Sharks
We had a super 5K run and walk 4 sharks event lead by mom, triathlete and shark survivor Maria Korcmaros, at the at the Newport Dunes, Newport Beach November 18. New Shark Stewards Chapter Builds Shark Awareness with Shark Water Extinction
Meet Amber Platowski, teacher and marine biologist and new chair of the Southeast chapter in Florida. Amber and two new team members provided outreach during the Stewart’s SharkWater Extinction screening at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival, where the film won best documentary. Watch for the film honoring Rob’s championshp at theaters near you. Shark Stewards will be building on the Texas shark fin protection with increased shark protection in the Gulf and SE Atlantic. Desert Sharks
Following our successful Nevada shark fin and manta ray gill ban in 2017, we followed up at the Dive Equipment and Manufacturing and Equipment Show building new friendships and sponsors.

EVENTS
December 9, Final 2018 Aquatic Park Marine Debris Survey and beach clean up. Meet us at 0900- 11:00AM- help us grow the park clean up into 2019. Meet outside Dolphin Club in the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park at Aquatic Park and bring a kid!
December 13, Oceans of Gratitude Event Combined with Friends and Volunteers 6:00-8:30 PM
Celebrate the ocean with friends and ocean images and stories from San Francisco to Borneo featuring Shark Stewards shark and marine protection work above and beneath the sea. Vegan fare sponsored by Animal Place Food For Thought. Kid friendly- shark activities. Check out the new shark swag for end of year gifts.
