Run 4 Sharks and Ocean Health Fair

Run 4 sharks group

Join us for the 6th Annual fun run/walk and ocean heath event to benefit our ocean education program benefiting underserved youth.

Run, walk or hang out with our fellow ocean educators like the Cal State University Shark Lab, naturalist Jim Serpa, Back Bay Science Center and learn about sharks and wildlife. Visit our health educators KPC Health, SCAR Rehab and watch a shark attack rescue simulation and learn field trauma care and how to apply a tourniquet!

Event: 5K

An out and back course with one short hill. Follow cones over bridge, continue straight to first turn left behind campground. Follow path to go up hill and loop top area to return along same route. Right turn before bridge to loop around back of bay to finish line.

Event: 1 mile kids

Follow path over bridge into parking lot to turn at cone then go right before bridge to loop around back of bay to finish line.

Your choice to run/walk your local course anytime on Saturday or Sunday, 10/7 or 10/8 and tag us on Facebook with a picture and your time. We will mail out a finisher medal to you :))

Description

Come out and get your fitness on with this closed course fun run and community event of ocean awareness. Choose a 5k or 1mile race with a 9am start. Walk or run it, professionally timed for some great prizes.

Can’t make it to the event? Choose our Virtual Option and do it in your neighborhood. On site, browse through our booths and learn about ocean health, sharks, and fitness from our sponsors.

Located at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach, 1131 Back Bay Drive, 92660.

 

This is a fundraising event supporting Shark Stewards, a fiscally sponsored project of Earth Island Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Shark Stewards works to protect sharks and preserve healthy ocean ecosystems.
