Sailing and Biodiversity of Sharks-Sausalito

On this night David will show his short film Alice in Borneo’s Wonderland, and discuss sharks and their current status in the San Francisco Bay and the Coral Triangle. He will be happy to discuss the many programs sponsored by Shark Stewards. You might even…adopt a shark!

Shark Stewards introduced the California shark fin trade ban and has led several state and international movements limiting overfishing of sharks and the shark fin trade. Shark Stewards protects critical marine habitat, working with NOAA in our National marine Sanctuaries and our California Marine Protected Areas, where he is Co-chair of the Golden Gate MPA collaborative.

David is also a documentarian with two books and several articles on sharks and ocean adventure. He has produced documentaries on shark conservation including Shark Stewards of the Reef, which premiered at the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, and the Emmy Award- winning Reefs to Rainforests. He is an ocean expeditioner and a National Geographic Explorer.
