We are celebrating the return of the white sharks to our sanctuary after their annual migration, and all sharks in the San Francisco Bay and world ocean. November 1 Swim for Sharks- a fund raiser and awareness swim to support our shark sanctuaries and marine protected areas initiative.
November 7, Bay Area Science Fair 10:00 AM AT&T Park. Join us with other science educators and experience a shark’s eye view of the Bay, foraging, avoiding predators and navigating other hazards to survive. Free!

NEW TRIPS ADDED NOVEMBER 14th and new trip added on the 21st! Sharktober Farallon Island Excursions, (others may be added) Join us on a specialized naturalist expedition on the vessel Silver Fox into the Gulf of the Farallones for whales, wildlife seabirds- and maybe a shark! These trips include expert discussions, data collection and oceanographic measurements for a full field experience. October 13 Bay Currents talk A Shark’s-Eye View of the Bay. Sponsored by 5 Creeks Albany The Bay’s murky waters are home to 11 varied species of shark. Broadnosed sevengill sharks cruise boldly; ray-like shovelnose guitarfish lurk in ambush; soupfin sharks depend on warm shallows as a safe nursery. Saturday October 17th Sharktoberfest with the Sanctuary. Join shark specialists and educators celebrating and learning about sharks in Shark Steward’s 6th annual Sharktoberfest education event.
