Ms. Angela Rice United Airlines Managing Director of Global Environmental Affairs and Sustainability,

Ms. Sharon Kobat Executive Services, United Airlines Corporate Customer Care

Dear Ms Rice, Ms Kobat and whom it may concern,

In behalf of over 10,000 supporters of Shark Stewards, and far more in the social media sphere, we would like to thank United Airlines by making a public statement via Twitter regarding the carriage of shark fin.

American Airlines has publicly announced that it will no longer transport shark fin in response to our partner organizations Pretoma and the Turtle Island Restoration Network, and public outcry.

We appreciate that United Airlines takes this opportunity joining 25 other air carriers supporting ocean sustainability by making a positive public statement that United Airlines will not transport shark fin as cargo.
We would like to share this information to our partners and public network showing that United Airliners is indeed a world leader in sustainability.

Please find attached a petition of 9500 signatures, many United Airlines frequent flyers, Star Alliance members and Million Miler Premiere travelers in support of making this statement.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this with me, please do not hesitate to contact me at the phone or email below.

Sincerely,
