Celebrating Shark Week 2021 live with Shark Stewards and Jacks Diving Locker, Kona

Shark films and talk on sharks and marine protection.

Join Shark Stewards founder David McGuire and Jack’s Diving Locker in Kona (Harbor Location) for a live, in-person event or join us live on Shark Stewards Facebook page to learn about sharks and the 15th year anniversary of the Papahanaumokuakea, the largest marine protected area in the world at the time. The first Marine National Monument established by Presidential Proclamation in 2006.

We will be screening the film Sharks Stewards of the Reef, co-produced by Shark Stewards to advocate for the establishment of this monument under President GW Bush, and advocate for state shark fin trade bans.

With 77% of oceanic sharks and rays threatened with extinction, Shark Stewards are proud to have led conservation efforts to protect marine habitats and drive meaningful legislative change. This event recognizes Hawaii’s unique role in ushering in a new era of marine conservation protecting sharks and the habitat they live in.
