Sharks Stewards Supports our Sanctuary

Shark Stewards science education and adventure make it into the Washington Post. Each summer and fall, we venture into Sanctuary waters at the Gulf of the Farallones collecting observations and monitoring at Southeast Farallon Island. As part of our National Geographic Open Explorer project we are investigating benthic habitat and species and activity in our Golden Gate marine protected areas.

Join us in Fall 2019 to discover our Sanctuary, learn about marine conservation and contribute as a citizen scientist. Discover firsthand the beauty and the importance of supporting our National Marine Sanctuaries and Marine Protected Areas.

Join Shark Stewards celebrating sharks in a life-changing experience searching the Gulf of the Farallones for whales, wildlife and our finny friends. Exit the Golden Gate for an amazing photo and wildlife opportunities entering the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary on a modern day wildlife expedition. These trips leave from Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and are all day excursions. Private charters are available.  Our 2018 season is complete. We have several scheduled trips for September-November 2019.
