Shark Stewards promotes ocean health. Saving Sharks protects ecosystem health and ultimately human health. As the USA opens up we entreat you to consider global health which includes ocean health working together to achieve future economic, ecosystem and climate health. This includes stopping harmful fishing and protecting habitat for all marine life from plankton to whale sharks. Join us on Juneteenth celebrating surfing, Dads and giving back while collecting data with our Southern California Beach Cleanup with Shark Stewards.

Led by our Southern California chair, shark and diversity champion Maria Korcmaros, we are building our team with Surfrider Seal Beach and CSU Long Beach Shark Lab. Join us at the beach!

What lies beneath the Surface?  Ending Racism, Speciesism and Plastic
Juneteenth is a day we recognize the end of slavery in this country. Juneteenth is not just a celebration of slavery’s end, but also an important reminder of slavery’s legacy and the need to address the continuing harms from this legacy. We can never forget this travesty and must work for equity and against injustice for all cultures.
This June 19th, we invite communities to come together, take care of each other and our oceans. Join us in a celebration, reducing ocean plastic and protecting the juvenile white shark and ray population from pollution and fishing with Shark Watch at Ray Bay, Seal Beach CA.
