World Oceans Day Beach Cleanup & Eliminate Single Use Plastic
June 6, 2021 @ 3:00 am - 6:00 am

Celebrate the Ocean on World Oceans Day, take action for endangered marine life.
Join Shark Stewards and the International Ocean Film Festival celebrating the earth and ocean health for a World Oceans Day marine debris survey, beach clean up at Aquatic Park, San Francisco.
Make a statement to protect fish and stop overfishing by wearing a ocean creature costume, reduce ocean plastic and make a sign to save the ocean and wildlife.
This year we are advocating to protect California Marine Life by eliminating plastic and supporting AB 1731 (Friedman) to reduce online commerce plastic.
This bill will help address the global plastics crisis by phasing out the unnecessary and unacceptable amount of single-use plastic used to ship online purchases in and into California.
Thirty-three billion pounds of plastic enter the world’s marine environments every year, devastating our shared ocean and coastal ecosystems.

Since 2015 we have been monitoring and segregating marine debris, recycling and working to reduce ocean pollution. Over 100,000 butts have been picked up since we began these cleanups in 2015. Let’s make our National Park smoke free and the ocean healthy by stopping overfishing.
